A surprising and unsettling event disrupts life in a small town in Campania, especially for Cesare, the town’s well-known hairdresser. In a recurring dream, a mysterious woman repeatedly urges him to perform an inexplicable act. Because of this, Cesare can no longer sleep.

What might be a figment of his imagination takes on disturbing dimensions when a series of harmful coincidences occur in his shop, seemingly echoing that very dream. The news spreads through the town, gradually spiraling out of control: everyone goes along with what appears to be a form of blackmail, yet no one seems to care about Cesare’s own wishes.
